MYRTLE BEACH. Known for its outstanding American fare and charming atmosphere, this restaurant tops many "favorites" lists. All of the fish and seafood they serve are fresh ­ How fresh? Try this on for size: The restaurant owns and operates its own fishing boat. But for those with more terrene tastes, there are delicious steak, chicken, lamb and veal selections, helping Chestnut Hill stand as one of the Strand's most versatile dinner choices. If you have the chance, their Sunday brunch is a "can't miss" that features everything from grilled quail to Southern fried chicken.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH. This restaurant and music hall offers Cajun fare and great live music performed by nationally and internationally known rock, folk, blues, jazz and blues bands. Besides offering interesting night life entertainment, they also serve up a wonderful Sunday Gospel Brunch. Phenomenal gospel music is performed live during the entire brunch. Call ahead for a schedule of upcoming events. Ticket prices and showtimes vary ­ most are about $20 and start around 8pm. Smoking section available during lunch hours only.

MURRELLS INLET. Located on the marsh in an 1860 clapboard house, Oliver's has been a local favorite serving the best seafood since 1910. Incredible seafood served in a rustic and comfortable dining room complete with wood tables and Shaker-style chairs clinging to the walls. The crime novelist, Mickie Spillane, liked this place so much that he got married here.

PAWLEYS ISLAND. On balmy Pawleys evenings, Webster's deck is ideal for relaxing with a chilled glass of chardonnay or some ice cold sweet tea. Start with sherry-laced she crab soup or fried oysters, and follow with a traditional Southern favorite ­ shrimp and grits. The tavern menu is a bit more casual but no less tasty: burgers and sandwiches, fried fish and seafood, and salads. At breakfast, the buffet has a full range of favorites, from waffles, fresh fruit, pancakes and pastries to omelets, grits, potatoes and sausage.
